The summer is coming and to us that means music festivals. Since there are so many great ones to choose from we decided to put together a top list. This list grew fast so we split it up into two. Here they are:

If you’re missing a festival in the list feel free to contact us and we’ll consider adding it.

New Features: Share event and fullscreen link!

New features has been added to Gigero today! The big one is that it is now possible to share an individual event. For every event there is now a button in the event info that looks like this:

Hover your mouse over this button and you will get the option to share the event on Facebook and Twitter. You can also choose to get the direct link to the event, so that you can share it in whatever way you want.

We’ve also added a fullscreen link to the embedded version of Gigero. Click the link to go to Gigero.com and a bigger version. Check out Gigero embed here.

Happy Gigfinding!

Gigero is back!

After a long period of silence, Gigero is finally back!
We have released a brand new version of Gigero wich has been totally rebuilt using html(5) and javascript. This brings alot of advantages over the flash version: The site loads much faster and it now works on mobile devices! (more on that later, but feel free to try Gigero on your mobile:). Along with the the total remake of the whole site we have also added some new features to Gigero. Here are some of them:

- Location search
This service uses your current location and finds events near you. The old Gigero had something like it but it only searched your current city, this version is more precise than that. It works for mobile devices as well so you can find events on the go!

- Gigero attending artists
If you find an interesting artist in the list of attending artists for an event, you can now find events for that artist directly by clicking on the title. Like before there’s also a link to the artist on Spotify.

- Direct linking for real
If you’ve made a search simply copy the url and share it to others, it’s now a link directly to that search result.

- Embed
This one we’re really excited about. We have launched a new service that let’s you embed a Gigero window wherever you want. This window will show events for the artist that you specify and you have some additional options to style your window and make it blend in on your own page.  To try this out simply go to gigero.com/embed and follow the instructions to generate your own Gigero embed code!

Since so much has been remade and added we decided too keep the Beta-status for now. If you find any bugs please report them to us and tell us what you think about Gigero!

Stay tuned for more updates in the near future. Until then, Go find that Gig!

Introducing Direct Links!

*UPDATE* – Gigero has been updated so you can ignore this post and go to this one instead http://gigero.com/blog/gigero-is-back/

Gigero has once again been updated to a new Beta!

This time the biggest change is that we have totally redone the way Gigero displays URLs. From now on the artist or city you search for will be represented in the URL. This makes Gigero more SEO friendly and it also makes it possible to go back and forward through searches with your browser.

But the biggest advantage is that it makes it really easy for you to share a link to a specific Gigero search. For example: if you’re in a band called Kings of Leon and you want to show people were you play around the world, you could just send them this link:

http://www.gigero.com/#/artist/kings of leon/

The same thing works for City search. If you want to share upcoming events in Barcelona with someone, just give them:

http://www.gigero.com/#/city/barcelona/

Since Gigero shows the URL of your current search, sharing it is now just a matter of Copy&Paste!

Feedback so far

Since the release of Gigero about a month ago we’ve gotten a whole lot of interesting ideas and suggestions from our users. The most common suggestions are date-range and a genre filter when searching a city for gigs. We are currently looking into this and it will definitely be something for a future release of Gigero.

If you have an idea that would make Gigero even better, give us a comment or send it to us on our Uservoice-page.

Happy midsummer!

To celebrate the new blog we have also released a new version of Gigero wich is alot smaller. By optimizing the code the new Gigero is around 80% smaller than before! This will improve the loading times of the site alot.
